As usual I found a spot to try to get a Meal and something to drink it was Hot n Memphis so I set down started Playing an Accustic Guitar my Uncle Buddy give me when I was 14. So my Guitar nothing in my Pockets I made corndog Money it sure was good. Then i saw Big Jerry Parnell and Freddie Harris Big Jerry was a Singer Drummer Writer Freddy Harris was the Best Utility musician n Memphis I walked over watched them set up and Bam Real Blues w SOUL and FUNK just them two . They did a Set pulled n a Big Crowed I heard hey what you doing w that Guitar I said Im a Picker Jerry told his load up Man go get him a good amp and Guitar I said I play Bass Too Jerry said all od it . I was Nervous because Freddy was a Monster on Guitar but I played Made a Few Bucks as I was Leaving I heard Have your ass down here at 10 in the Morning . I just (smiled for the First Time n Days) Well that wasnt a Problem I was Living in Burned out Building just off BEALE STREET as A Street Person after a while you learn How Not to DIE. Cause its a JUNGLE OUT THERE I Mean That For Real . But I was there on Time and Ready. We did 4 sets then Jerry said alright get this Equipment down to Kings Palace We did 6 sets there ( I Guess to Quote Mr Howard) we just work half a Day 12 HOURS) It was a Treat to Play w those Guys PURE TALENT and we Packed them In stopped all the Trafic on The Street there was People everywhere Tips were Fanastic I Probabley could have gotten a Room and a Shower But I I had No Faith. So I held the Money Tight (Food Socks Laundry Matt) its best that way Thats the Kind of Mindset to Survive on the Streets . As a Veteran I felt Like Dam my Uncles come Back from Korea Veitnam Uncle Bud was Blind. Uncle Harry had all kinds of Body Parts Missing. Uncle Tom a Hi Ranking Soilder was Just Crazy but Scary Smart Uncle Jimmy Wow 3 Tours Vietnam Uncle Budd Army and Navy So I had signed up for 3 years did my Time I didnt reup. I Choose My Art Words Music and Stories. Col Kind said Wood were going to Korea, He said are you Comming I said Sir Im a Guitar Player. He said Wood I couldnt get you into the Army Band because you cant read Music. But I Played for Him at Certain Places Like Talent Show Then off to a Gun Range Helicopter Ride for some Reason I said Sir have you ever heard of the Rolling Stones He said Yes I let my Daughter Purchase a Rolling Stones Album He said Wood, You did Well Remember (You get Out of Life What you Put Into Life) Shook my Hand w a Smile. Col Jerald F King we worked for the Galiping Ghost Major General William s Carpenter got Camp Drum To Full Deployment . !0th Mountains Mechanzied Light Infintry That Mean put a sandwich in your pocket we got 74 Miles to do in 3 days . So I Felt Guilty But I didnt realize I had Brain Lession that would prevent me from ever Letting That Go. Some How I had Mental Issues Physical Issues an Agoraphobia Panic Disorder MST PTSD. So I could not go Home I had Brain Surgery in DC fom There I played in the Street made Bus Money to NYC Wow what a Site to Behold Curtis Jones a Great Pianist and Composer Helped me a Lot. We recorded some good tunes Together Ill put it on here to listen to when you are reading the Book . Probable have to ask Curtis. Im sure theres a way to add Music and a voice Over BEALE STREET Next I Played w Mr Carl Drew and Eddie Lester Glenn Briner The Bonner Brouthers was a Great Time They could play Too. Then up walks Big T . Teris Tate he siad what you doing w my Bass I said just Tuning it. Then Carl told the Load up Man go get Him a Guitar and Amp .It was about this Time Little Jimmy King helped me out w my own Amp I paid him carried that dam thing around like it was a Baby Jimmy was unbeleavable guitar player Whole Family Played I didnt get to play with Him Dam . But That Kindness will never be Forgotten It Just kept getting Better MR FRED good GUITAR Picken SANDERS and JAMES MCKLINEY ELLIS a Real Drummer Singer . I soon found myself w THE BEALE STREET BLUES BAND. Big T was The Best Front Man, I ever saw. He just had it. Fred was a Predator on That Guitar. Jimmy just Smiled Played and Sang . Fred and Jimmy took me to Larry Lees House. Larry was a Veteran, Fred a Veteran .Jimmy a Veteran they said Look Man. You need to go to the VA and get some Help. I Finaly Listened . I went got Diabeties Meds , Some councleing and a Pamplet w HUD Information . Remember the 12 hour days. I found a Girlfriend at DYERS BURGERS they had some good Burgers. Things hadnt been this staedy for a Long Time . I got a Voucher from HUD and it was on the 17th Floor of the Exchange Building , over Looking The Mississippi River What a Place to Heale .You could walk by that River just Feel Nature The Mighty Missippi is unbeleavable. Theres a Bunch of People who Live on that River . NEXT a Man w a Weird Camera asked if Ihe could film us I said Sure, He had Hair down to his BUTT a Beard he said stop buy when you get off work Ill give you a copy of the Film. I said ok . I went to his appartment he had duplicaked Mixed a DVD and a CD w Covers and in shrink Rap. He was Dr DAN GRAVES a Pilot Sen DOLES. Microsoft Engineer , a Dr at Kansas State, a Writer and a Genious For Real he didnt drink or smoke just worked all the Time. I left w 100 cds 100 DVDS on a Fifty Fifty Deal at 20 Bucks a POP and a simple Hand Shake . We Sold out the next day at HANDY Park . I went paid Dan Back .This Time I was Handed a Duplicater Printer Computer I finaly Learned, Paid back the Equipment . About This Time .The HUD INSPECTER COME OVER and SAID this is the Cleanest Apartment I have ever saw, I said my Mom was clean even w 3 BOYS. Then the ARMY liked TIDY all the Time . I have never had a Dream so vivid so real as Today Studio 863 Brookland Arkansas and Studio 863 Memphis Tn want to bring the Build A COMMUNITY THEATRE w 2 Stages Concessions Shops, Computer Lab, Best of all 20 rooms for Homeless Veterans and Veterans n Crises when those Veterans Get Better They help Build a Community who looks after eachouther, for now just to Dream isnt enough But why stop w 1 When we can do 50 one in each State 1000 vets a day Slow the Suicide Rate. Plus help the Elderly w Computer Task. Offer Music classes. Bring Schools, Churches. Talent shows, State and Federal Leaders That show Support. For The Project . I am not a teck guy but Lucky I got Brandon is HOLLYWOOD JACKSON for a Man n a Wheelchair Thats a LOT of WORK were looking forward to ADA Help He Plays Unbeliveable Guitar, Bass, Sings, Writes , and an Engineer WERE THE DISABLED DUO
